Swiss striker Blaise Nkufo is likely to miss the European Championship with a thigh injury.
The 32-year-old target man will see doctors Tuesday at the Swiss team's training camp in Lugano to examine what is thought to be a torn adductor muscle, which would require several weeks of treatment.
Nkufo scored 22 goals this season for his Dutch club FC Twente as it qualified for the Champions League.
His expected absence would leave Switzerland coach Koebi Kuhn with just three recognized strikers in his provisional squad for Euro 2008. Kuhn must name his final roster of 23 players by May 28.
On Monday, third-choice goalkeeper Fabio Coltorti was ruled out with post-viral fatigue, and was replaced with Grasshopper's 23-year-old Eldin Jakupovic.
