Baseball career falls into place: Green High graduate is Pa. Div. II college's highest draft pick ever.

Jun. 17--Playing professional baseball wasn't necessarily on David Lough's mind when he was looking for a college to attend as a senior at Green High School.

Back then, Lough was a three-sport athlete (soccer, football and baseball) focusing mostly on soccer and football.

So he choose Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pa., where he would play football as a wide receiver and kicker. He joined the baseball team as a walk-on center fielder.

Those are the humble beginnings of how Lough recently became the highest draft pick out of the Division II college. He signed with the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday as their 11th-round …
