The people at BB Riverboats have big news, but this time, surprisingly, most of it comes from the shore.
A ribbon-cutting event today begins a three-day celebration of BB Riverboats' new home at the Newport Landing (the former site of Crockett's and Sloppy Joe's) on Riverboat Row.
The move was made necessary by the continuing demolition of BB's former home at the ill-fated Covington Landing.
"The problem," said Alan Bernstein, who owns the company with wife Mary and brother, Jim, "wasn't with Covington, not at all, but rather with the current situation at what was Covington Landing. With the work going on, it made things difficult for us, sometimes almost impossible.
