Former Superman CHRISTOPHER REEVE will board his first commercial flight since a freakhorseriding accident left him paralysed from the neck down when he visits Australia inJanuary.
NSW Premier BOB CARR says the actor will visit Sydney to attend a spinal injury forumand fundraising dinner for the Prince of Wales Medical Research Institute.
REEVE -- who went from star actor to stem cell research advocate after the accidentseven years ago -- will fly from the United States in an ordinary Qantas jet and touchdown with fellow passengers in Sydney.
But the first class cabin will be stripped of its normally plush seating and vast legroom and sealed off to form a makeshift medical ward for the Superman star and his teamof doctors.
REEVE will speak at a gala $275-a-head dinner for 3,000 guests and at a two-day forumon spinal cord injury and conditions in late January.
