FED: PM thanks Stone, leaves door open for future job

Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD has thanked outgoing Northern Territory Chief Minister SHANE
STONE for his efforts, saying he'd like to continue to use his talents in the future.

But Mr HOWARD says he didn't have any specific job in mind for Mr STONE, who has announced
his resignation after coming under pressure from his Country Liberal Party colleagues.

Mr HOWARD has told reporters Mr STONE isn't only a political colleague, but a good
political friend.
