WA: Baby injured in house fire

PERTH, Feb 17 AAP - A baby girl has been rushed to hospital with extensive burns after
a Perth housefire, a St John Ambulance spokeswoman said today.

The little girl, whose exact age is not known, suffered burns to her face, hands and
parts of her body, ambulance spokeswoman Lindy Howell said.

"So for a baby her size it is quite significant."

The child is being treated at Princess Margaret Hospital for Children.

"The parents were later taken to another hospital with smoke inhalation," Ms Howell added.

A police spokesman said the baby and her parents were at their home in First Street,
Redcliffe, when fire broke out about 8.30am WST today.

Investigations are continuing.
